Analyst firm, Gartner has released the results of a survey showing that 25% of respondents in the EMEA region expect their 2010 IT budget to increase.
As part of the research, Gartner surveyed approximately 1,000 IT professionals worldwide in April and May. When asked whether they expected their 2010 budgets to be below, the same or exceed the IT budget for this year, 25% of respondents from EMEA indicated they expected it to increase along with 30% from the Asia/Pacific, and 28% from North America.
“Software vendors should continue to build, fund and invest in software sales and marketing programs, even during tight market conditions to maintain customers and expand revenue opportunities,” said Joanne Correia, managing vice president at Gartner.
The remainder means that 75% of respondents from EMEA indicated their IT budgets in 2010 would be the same or below 2009 levels.
